Woman Beats Boy to Death for Eating Gala

The Ijegun area of Lagos, Nigeria was thrown into grief on Sunday when a woman locally known as Iya anu allegedly beat his husband’s nephew, Seubow to death with an iron rod for spending her 50 naira for gala snack. Trouble started after Seubow lost the 1,000 naira given to him by Iya Anu to run an errand for her some days back. According to neighbours, Angered by the loss which she claimed was theft, the woman refused to feed Seubow for over four days. When the teenager couldn't take the hunger anymore, he sneaked out to buy gala snack at night. When Iya Anu found out he ate gala snack, she accused him of stealing her 50 naira and beat him up, using an iron rod. She battered him for days until he finally gave up the ghost on Sunday afternoon. After his death, neighbours rounded the woman up, stripped her naked and made her to carry the corpse of the dead boy around her area then to the police station. The sad incident happened on Sunday on Amosu Street, Ijegun, in Lagos. Seubow until his death was 16 years old and a nephew to Iya Anu’s husband. It was also gathered that this wasn’t the first time Iya Anu would batter the little boy for various reasons. Unfortunately the boy died in her hands this time for eating a 50 naira snack after four days of hunger.
